40th Anniversary
Held November 8th 2008, 80 members attended a three course meal at the Horse and Trap to celebrate the clubs 40th Anniversary. A variety of Officers from the club both past and present spoke. There was live entertainment provided by a one man band and the NZ election results as they slowly dripped in.

St. David’s Day
St. David is the Patron Saint of Wales, and every year the Auckland Welsh Club celebrate our national day. If it falls on a week day we celebrate on the nearest Saturday. The last two St. David’s Days festivities have taken place in the Rocky Nook Bowls Club, the home of the Auckland Irish Society.

Wine Trail
Every year the on Auckland Anniversary Weekend, the club hosts a mystery wine trail, over the last few years this has been out in West Auckland. This is an all day event that takes in four to five different wineries and boutique breweries for tastings and food. This has proven a very popular day out with our members.

Personalities and Groups
Every year a number of Welsh groups, choirs, individuals and sporting sides come to the land of long white cloud. The Auckland Welsh Club endeavours to contact each of these groups and people in advance and arrange a social function, formal or informal with them. One of the most recent of these was with the Treorchy Male Choir who came to NZ as part of tour Down Under. Other events have included an informal function with the Welsh Netball side who came for the World Championships held in Waitakere City. In the next couple of years there will be a massive influx of groups coming from Wales, from the Welsh Rugby side in June 2010, through to various choirs and Rugby teams coming to coincide with the Rugby World Cup in 2011.
