Red Dragons

The Club founded a Football team in 2008 and entering the Auckland Sunday Football Association (ASFA) competition the following season.  The Red Dragons were formed thanks to the hard work of the late Barrie Partridge, Gren Jones and Barrie-John Partridge. Initially being a way for the younger members of the club to get physical activity and constant social interaction throughout the Winter season.

Their results have been improving year upon year and have been constantly involved in promotion battles each season. With a strong core of players having been involved every season the Red Dragons are now a culturally diverse team who play an exciting attacking brand of football.

They are captained by founding Red Dragon Adam Taylor who has won the Player's Player of the Year Award twice since their inception.

The team plays it's home games at Eastdale Reserve in Avondale.

Please visit the ASFA website for further information on fixtures.

Auckland Welsh Rugby

They compete in the annual Four Nations tournament at College Rifles. Although they were perennial underdogs in the initial years of the tournament in the past few years they have gone from strength to strength with several close calls culminating in their maiden championship in 2012.

Derek Lewis is the long-suffering manager who works tirelessly to make sure that the Auckland Welsh are a competitive force every season.

Hopefully we can continue on the strong vein of form developed in 2012 into the future and earn championship after championship.
